Upgrades

Upgrades provides another opportunity for our customers to choose the way they fly by enabling them (upon receiving an invitation) to make an offer to upgrade to a more premium cabin.

Upgrades are available by invitation only for selected Qantas-operated domestic and international flights. Upgrade invitations will be made and offers will be accepted or rejected in Qantas’ sole and absolute discretion. Eligible customers or their Travel Agent may be emailed an invitation where they can make an offer for an upgrade. Alternatively, Travel Agents can check their customer’s eligibility by entering the surname and booking reference below.

Customers who are Frequent Flyer members may receive an invitation with a link through which they can make an upgrade offer to upgrade to a more premium cabin using a combination of Qantas Points and money. Customers who are not Frequent Flyer members may receive an invitation with a link through which they can make an upgrade offer using money only.

Travel Agents can facilitate the upgrade offer on behalf of their customer through the email link or through this Upgrades Industry page.

How does it work?  
For non Frequent Flyer members, the passenger can make an offer for an upgrade within a given range using money only. If the upgrade offer is accepted, the money offered will be deducted from the nominated payment card. If not, they pay nothing and keep their current seat. The offer can be modified or cancelled any time up until 24 hours before departure. Terms and conditions apply.

Important Information

If your Upgrade offer is successful, the original fare conditions of your booking will apply to your upgraded booking. Note that separate Terms and Conditions may apply to inclusions. Chauffeur Drive is not available for Upgraded Bookings. Qantas Frequent Flyer members who have included their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number in their Original Booking will earn Qantas Points and Status Credits at the rate that they would have done for the Original Booking, and not for the Upgraded Booking. Product offering varies by aircraft type. Aircraft and product offering are subject to change.
